Twenty-seven years of compassionate care, built on the simple belief that every person deserves to be truly known.
In 1998, Margaret and Robert Calloway opened the doors to Sunrise Classic with a clear and personal mission: to create the kind of care community they wished had existed when caring for their own parents. Margaret, a registered nurse with twenty years of experience in geriatric medicine, and Robert, a retired school principal, combined their gifts to build something truly different — a home in every sense of the word.
The name "Sunrise Classic" wasn't chosen by accident. Margaret often said that every morning in a care home should feel like a sunrise — full of quiet promise, warmth, and the chance to begin again. That philosophy has guided every hire, every program, and every care plan written within these walls for twenty-seven years.
Today, Sunrise Classic serves 96 residents across four care levels and employs more than 120 staff members who share one simple calling: making each resident feel genuinely seen, heard, and cared for.
These four principles aren't posted on a wall — they're practised in every interaction, every care plan, and every decision we make as an organisation.
We believe that every resident — regardless of their cognitive or physical condition — deserves to be treated with the same respect and dignity as any other person. Our language, our routines, and our environment are designed to honour this truth.
We see families as essential members of the care team, not visitors. Open communication, involvement in care planning, and an always-open-door policy reflect our belief that the best outcomes happen when everyone works together.
Physical health is only part of the picture. We invest equally in emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing — because a resident who is engaged, connected, and purposeful truly thrives in ways that medical care alone cannot provide.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards and actively seek feedback from residents, families, and staff to get better every year. Our clinical outcomes, satisfaction scores, and staff retention rates reflect this commitment to excellence.
Our mission is simple, and we return to it often: to honour the dignity and individuality of every person in our care, and to be a true partner to the families who trust us with their most cherished loved ones.
Sunrise Classic is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services (License #AZ-12847) and is an active member of the Arizona Health Care Association. We exceed state-mandated staffing ratios and training requirements — not because we have to, but because our residents deserve nothing less.
We undergo voluntary quality inspections beyond those required by state law, and our outcomes data is available to any prospective family on request.
Our leadership team brings together decades of clinical, operational, and programme expertise — united by a shared commitment to exceptional care.
