Choosing The Regency is one of the most significant decisions a family will make. We treat it with the seriousness and care it deserves.
At The Regency, we consider families to be essential partners in the care of every resident. Marcus Webb, our dedicated Family Liaison, is available personally — not through a call centre — to every family from the day of admission. He attends care reviews, facilitates difficult conversations, and ensures that no family member is ever in the dark about their loved one's condition, progress, or daily life.
Families are welcome at The Regency during our visiting hours and are encouraged to attend care review meetings, join their loved one for meals, and participate in community events throughout the year. We operate an open-door philosophy: your presence here is not an interruption. It is a contribution.
Visiting Hours: Daily, 10:00am – 8:00pm. Extended hours for family members travelling from interstate are arranged personally by Marcus Webb — please contact him directly.
The Regency's secure Family Portal provides real-time access to your loved one's daily care notes, health monitoring summaries, activity records, and clinical correspondence — available from any device, anywhere in the world.
Many families tell us that the Portal changes their experience of having a loved one in our care. Instead of waiting for a weekly call, they have continuous, quiet reassurance. Direct messaging with your loved one's key worker means questions are answered promptly and privately.
The process at The Regency is designed to be unhurried, informative, and entirely tailored to your family's specific situation.
Your first visit is a private tour led personally by Marcus Webb or a senior member of our team. You will see the suite options, meet members of the care team, tour our common spaces and grounds, and be invited to stay for luncheon. There are no sales presentations, no printed packages until you ask for them, and no pressure of any kind.
Should you wish to proceed, Dr. Abernathy's clinical team will conduct a comprehensive care needs assessment — usually in your loved one's current home or at their physician's office. This assessment informs a personalised care plan and ensures we can meet your loved one's needs with complete competence before they arrive.
Move-in day at The Regency is orchestrated to be calm, dignified, and unhurried. Your loved one's key worker greets them by name at the door. The suite is prepared. A light lunch is served. Families are welcome to stay for as long as the day requires — there is no clock running, and no rush toward the door.
My father was a federal judge for thirty-two years. He had very particular standards and very precise views on how things ought to be done. I was not going to place him somewhere that made him feel diminished. The Regency did not. He spent his final two years there with dignity, companionship, and remarkably good claret at dinner.— James R., son of resident Hon. Harold R., Assisted Living
What struck me from the very first visit was the absence of institutional smell, institutional noise, and institutional atmosphere. It felt like a very well-run private club. My mother, who had spent thirty years hosting events at our home in Paradise Valley, was completely at ease within a week. That was the measure I was looking for.— Diana M., daughter of resident Eleanor M., Assisted Living
My husband has advanced Lewy body dementia. The Memory Care team at The Regency understands his condition at a level I was not expecting to find anywhere outside a specialist hospital. Dr. Abernathy reviewed his case personally on day three. I felt, for the first time in two years, that someone other than me truly understood what we were dealing with.— Miriam T., wife of resident Leonard T., Memory Care
Marcus Webb called me personally the evening of my mother's admission. He walked me through the day, told me what she had eaten, that she had met her neighbour on the corridor and liked her, and that she had slept well. That phone call was worth more than any brochure. I knew then that my decision was right.— Sarah K., daughter of resident Dorothy K., Skilled Nursing
Standard visiting hours at The Regency are daily, 10:00am to 8:00pm. We actively encourage family visits — they are one of the most important contributors to resident wellbeing. Families travelling from out of state or with unusual schedules are accommodated without bureaucracy. Please contact Marcus Webb directly to arrange a visit outside standard hours; he will always find a way to make it possible.
The Regency's fees reflect the quality of care, the staffing ratio, and the standard of environment we provide. Assisted Living begins from $8,500 per month. Memory Care and Skilled Nursing are priced at higher rates reflecting the specialist staffing and clinical oversight required. Full fee schedules are provided at the first consultation. There are no hidden charges. We also provide a dedicated Financial Advisor who can assist with Long-Term Care Insurance claims, VA benefits, and estate planning considerations.
Absolutely — and we warmly encourage it. The Regency's suites are spacious specifically because we want residents to bring meaningful pieces from their previous home. Our interior design consultant is available to assist with placement, and our maintenance team will handle all installation and adjustment at no charge. We have accommodated antique furniture, original artworks, and entire sitting room arrangements. The suite is your loved one's home; it should look like it.
Every floor of The Regency has a registered nurse on duty around the clock. In the event of a medical emergency, our protocol is to stabilise the resident immediately, summon emergency services where required, and contact the designated family emergency contact within thirty minutes. Dr. Abernathy maintains a direct line to Scottsdale's HonorHealth Osborn Medical Center, which is 2.3 miles from our facility. Families are never left waiting during a health event.
Given our size and standard, demand for The Regency frequently exceeds immediate availability. We recommend that families register their interest as early as possible — even when a transition is not imminent. Registration is discreet, free, and carries no obligation. It simply means we contact you when a suitable suite becomes available. Respite Care places are sometimes available with shorter notice, and a respite stay is an excellent way to experience The Regency without a long-term commitment.
Yes. Our Respite Care programme offers stays from five nights upward, with full access to all areas of The Regency. Many of our current long-term residents started with a respite stay, which gave both resident and family the opportunity to experience the community without the weight of permanence. We find this produces better outcomes for everyone — the transition, when it comes, is familiar rather than frightening.
Every resident at The Regency has a named Key Worker who is responsible for day-to-day communication with their family. Our Family Portal provides daily care notes, health summaries, and direct messaging access. Formal care review meetings are held quarterly and attended by the relevant clinical staff, the resident's key worker, and Marcus Webb. We operate a zero-surprises policy — any significant event, whether clinical or personal, is communicated to the family promptly and personally. We do not use automated messages for important news.
There is no obligation, no pressure, and no deadline. When you are ready to discuss your family's needs, Marcus Webb and our care team are here.
